So we have some new besties... officially. Now don't get me wrong, we have lots of besties, but these are the ones we tend to do a lot with. I've found a new walking buddy in Miss Shauna. She has made my life definitely more normal. She's understanding and compassionate and just plain old fun. She makes resident life just a little more bearable. I get my grown-up time. And Jeff gets his Josh time. These two kiddos are two weeks apart. They love seeing each other. Jeff's even started saying his name whenever we pull into their neighborhood. haha. They like to mellow-ly explore together.
Joshy is just as cute as can be.And I think they look quite a bit alike. I just love Jeff's expression in this one.
Shauna helped us get some tickets to the children's museum via groupon and we LOVE going there. It's really great to just let the kids explore and we went on a perfect afternoon.
The biggest hit, is probably the automated grocery store. Jeff likes to throw the food around and Aria likes to go shopping and play cashier. There's also a little pretend cafe and she likes to be my waitress and bring me all sorts of interesting stuff.
Another popular stop is the face painting station. Aria likes to paint a kitty on her face and Jeff well... he just likes to paint one cheek over and over and over dab and spot. dab and spot. dab and spot. haha. I may have a problem on my hands. Did I mention that for some reason he thinks that make-up goes in your eye? I worry about him sometimes.
Finally I was pretty proud of Jeff for working on a heavy one first. He did eventually get it. and he didn't give up. I totally thought he would. Apparently when you put your mind to something you can accomplish great things! :) ..... with one hand behind your back.... :)
I hope you are all having a wonderful fall. I'm loving my candle. the wonderful weather. and making costumes. More to come on those later.
Not so much loving the mosquitos though. This is our first exposure here to them. They pretty much make it miserable around here. For some reason the bug spray isn't working for us.
Oh and guess what! I now have regular date nights with my husband! I started a date night co-op and we are loving it. You babysit two people's kids on one night and then you get two date nights. It's genious. This last weekend we went and saw Driving Miss Daisy at the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
It rocked. We could bring in our food. Snuggle under a blanket and enjoy a wonderful comedy.... oh yeah and it was f-r-e-e free! Loved it. And Nate took me to this French/Thai restaurant that has wonderful sandwiches. And I got to go do some lab work with him. I feel pretty lucky to have such a wonderful hubby. He's always light years ahead of me in everything he does. Hope this inspires you to get some time out with your spouse. It's awesome. It took us a few years (post-kids) but now I'm addicted. Love me some hubby (my one and only bestie.) .
