Towards the beginning of September, I took Aria into the Dentist's office for the first time ever, she wasn't seeing Daddy dentist - but we just so happened to be particular on who we take her to, and it's all the way into Houston. We went to the dentist, got a smoothie on the way home and I bring her back to school. I'm home for all of 10 minutes when the school nurse calls and says... Jeff is just fine but he has a pretty good goose egg and you might want to take him in. Knowing that Jeff gets goose eggs, I wasn't too worried, but when I showed up...
Yikes. Biggest one I've ever seen. Luckily I was able to get him in, I had to pick up Aria too and because of this I spent all day driving to and from Doctor's offices. Apparently it was a tag-trip-head connects with slide-goose egg kind of day. Specifically in that order. He hated putting the ice on.
We finally went camping as a family!!! We got our tent from Dr. A. and we finally had the bare minimum equipment for camping. The kids loved it. I loved that we got to go with Megan and Alex too. We had a blast.
We went to Buescher State Park. It was fun to explore a little of the wilderness around us.
Um, Did I say Wilderness? I meant Jeff...
The Hutchings brought fishing poles and a little raft. We loved it all.
Apparently most of the state parks feature some sort of water... because it definitely won't be a mountain.
The type of gear we need here, just might be canoes and fishing poles. Gotta get my Mom here somehow.
Aren't they great?
On a side note, I don't know of anything more renewing or refreshing as a night under the stars. This lucky man of mine, gave away his sleeping bag to Jeff thinking he wouldn't need a blanket. Halfway through the night he woke up shivering and I had to share mine. what? But luckily I love him so I guess it all worked out ok. It was just lovely waking up to the sun.
Other random memories from this month include climbing at our park...
And Daddy's never been prouder than when he saw his kids drawing ninja turtles. One is from when Nate was 8, the other two are Jeff's and Aria's renditions... which was which? Little known fact... my husband and his brother's teachers in 2nd and 3rd grade had an argument about that they each had a kid that was the best at drawing ninja turtles. The two students they were arguing about was my husband and his brother. Personally, I think my small ones are even better... :)
