duck creek

Guys. This trip was amazing. I was so in need of a vacation like this where we were active, but relaxed. It was amazing. We couldn't get into the cabin until 3 but we were anxious and went up early to eat lunch at cafe rio... had to get that in again and played at discovery park. The place where Tyler proposed to Chelsea for history's sake.
It was the hottest day of the year in Cedar City. Seriously... we were dying.
 Good thing Charlotte's cute.
When we got to the cabin, we had SO much fun!! The kids dived in playing a game of sorry.
That night we made a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Nice suck in dad. I almost don't believe that you ate those hot dogs and marshmallows.
My Mom let me take a picture of her... what? I thought it was adorable.
Aria's first time roasting a hot dog. She loved it!!
I just love how they're both taking a big bite out of their hot dog at the same time. They truly are best friends. This summer has been amazing.
The next morning we went fishing! Aria loved reeling it in. :)
Devin caught the first fish and we weren't quite ready to store the fish we caught. Apparently we weren't sure that we were going to catch any.
This was fish number 2!! So exciting. This is the photo that Devin wanted to be in the living memory.

But this is the one that I think is more characteristic of what actually happened. I mean look at his face!!
It was such a beautiful place. The fresh air was healing and beautiful. We slept with the windows and doors open.
Jeff was very very patient. As long as I had enough treats.
When this little family of ducks swam across the water I couldn't help but think of my family of 4. Such a perfect picture and the way it was meant to be at this moment. This small kindness from God helped ground me and let me know in His way that my family is right. for now. The ectopic pregnancy was meant to be ectopic. One of those chance flukes. I had no previous scarring, I had my tubes checked and there was nothing. But God knew I'd be open to answers and this one was amazing.
That afternoon we went and walked through mammoth caves. The ATV trail we took to get there was definitely picturesque, but luckily verushka made it as did the tires. It was questionable, I assure you. My Dad just got the title rogue.
It was so fun to feel the history of the cave
 and the absolute darkness.
Looking up out of the cave.
The next morning we went canoeing!! It was so fun to get out on the water.

This lake is up on top of a mountain. It's really beautiful.
My Mom and I were the only ones to spend a good hour out on the boat. My Mom Loves loves loves this kind of stuff. There was fish jumping all around us although we could never actually see them swimming.
This is the crew waiting their turns to ride on the boat.
The people that rode with kids had to be awesome.
These two have a really strong connection and I feel so blessed to be married o such a great Dad.
He is playful, yet serious and lets him run all over him.
 That afternoon, we hiked.
 it was beautiful.
 and lonely
and breathtaking. My Mom freaked out almost the whole time.
Wouldn't ever stand any where even remotely close to the edge!
I forget what the hike was called
but we ended up at this beautiful waterfall.
It was so fun to be all together.
These little flowers were all over the trail. They are really beautiful in the tiny-ness.
 Love my man.
Aria loved making little tessellations over and over again.
Nate and I got to go with all my siblings to see the Taming of the Shrew. This was the last season in this historic theater. I am so happy we got to go watch this together. I love the theater.

Aria's finally old enough to play hand and foot. It was so fun to play outside on the table.
Jared brought his cool new toy. Jeff was much better at sitting on it.
Nate got out ALL his good moves for this. I know you can practice, but man... balancing on it was super hard.
Aria actually made it a couple steps this time.
And here we are doing marshmallows again. Seriously a wonderful trip.
They had  the cutest little teepee in the yard. Would have been fun to camp in... maybe. maybe not.
 And Jeff... just cause.
