Okay... so this summer has pretty much been non-stop go. We had a lot going on. I haven't even posted about my brother's wedding yet and it is definitely blog-worthy. That will just have to come later when I can get the pictures. Because what's a story without pictures?
So we came home for two weeks and I call it our siesta because we pretty much just go go go when we haven't been here. Needless to say it wasn't much of a break, but it was definitely fun!
We've made some really good friends in our new ward. A part of me wonders how this is even possible. We've always been able to make friends easily in our many moves in the past few years, but it's hard to get to the point in a friendship where you feel you can call and talk, just to call and talk. She and I have a lot of the same interests and agree in all sorts of things from parenting to eating good food, from playing tennis to having faith in the things that matter most. They've watched out for Nate when I've been out of town, AND they get stuff for us at Costco. I may have gotten the better end of the stick in this relationship. I am pushing and praying with all my heart that we can convince them to stay in this wonderful city. Maybe we can move across the street from each other someday.
We met them by being invited to a part of this FANTASTIC date night co-op. So our kids get to play and Nate and I get about two dates a month. I am in love with this idea. and I'm in love with this man. This was one of our more creative dates...We picked a poem about each other. the titles say it all... :)
We invited them along for our 'calm' adventures on the 4th of July.
They have so much fun together!
and finally we had family night with them where we introduced them to the game kubb.... Some pretty intense players at their house. :) Despite the sweat it was a really great evening. I'm always knocking on wood, hoping that this friendship lasts for a long time.
