We had Nate's parents here for 8 WONDERFUL days. Talk about a stay-cation. I didn't have to do a single dish the whole time they were here. (I admit that I may have done a few just to make myself feel better, but really, I've never seen anyone so on top of dishes as my Mother in law.) She's crazy fast at it, too.
I feel like when they come to see us they get to know us so much better and we really get to know them. After 7 + years I still feel like even though I've spent a lot of time with them, I don't know them like I should or like I want to. I know a lot of the same stories, but everytime they come I get to hear a few new ones and I'm finally at an age where I really appreciate it now.
They got to reminisce with us quite a bit, because they lived here... 25 years ago. That's right, maybe 10 minutes from where we live. It's pretty crazy to think about it. What they didn't know is that this is Alligator country! That's right folks. Look at 'em....
Truly this scary if you think about it too long. I could have been a goner.
About halfway through they have this tower, beautiful bench and bridge. Great spot for a little rest. One of my favorite photos of my favorite people. From the tower:
They're apparently as long as they are old. This one I think was about 6 or 7 feet long so it would be 6 or 7 years old. I couldn't believe how fat their tails were. We saw probably 4-5 big ones and TONS of small ones. One of our most memorable experiences to date. Just amazing. Check out the video post for some live action.
